The Dambulla Cave Temple, sometimes referred to as the Golden Temple of Dambulla, is a famous landmark in Dambulla. It is a collection of five caverns that feature colorful murals that vividly show scenes from the life of Buddha as well as countless old Buddha sculptures. The location, a UNESCO World Heritage site, has served as a place of worship for more than 2,000 years.
